About

Nefesh Mountain is the place where the Jewish spirit and soul meet with Bluegrass and Old-Time musical traditions. Husband and Wife team Eric Lindberg & Doni Zasloff are pioneering this blend of Jewish Americana throughout the country, bringing their unique knowledge and passion for both Jewish and Bluegrass traditions to the fore, singing English and Hebrew songs alike.

Our debut self titled album features bluegrass greats Sam Bush on Mandolin and Vocals, Mark Schatz on Bass, Scott Vestal on Banjo, Rob Ickes on Dobro, and Gary Oleyar on Fiddle. We recorded the record at Sound Emporium studios in Nashville TN with our good friend Adam Taylor as head engineer. The record is digitally available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and many other streaming and download services! Hard copies will be available for purchase on 7/15 on Amazon, CD Baby, and through our website store as well.

“A highly-effective blend of these two spheres… only rarely have we heard a prominent Jewish counterpoint to the gospel music that has been a part of bluegrass since Bill Monroe’s earliest recordings.”

While we are finishing work on our new record we wanted to share some video that we were able to capture with the help of Readylight media. This is a glimpse into our recording process and a look at some of the truly amazing musicians that we were lucky enough to collaborate with for our album.

A three song medley with one of our favorite old-time spirituals and two of our own compositions about gratitude and celebrating life. Thanks to Jeff Carpenter from Readylight Media in Nashville TN who dropped in on us in the Northeast to help us shoot the video.

The last of our videos from the series produced with Readylight media this summer. One more song off of our upcoming record, trimmed down for the duo setting. Hine Ma Tov, how good it is for brothers and sisters to be together!

A Duo version of a track on our upcoming recording. There are many places where we look for help when in a time of need, sometimes to our family, sometimes to friends, and sometimes to the Mountains. Esa Einai.
