We've just returned from an amazing week in Orlando at the URJ Biennial! It was such a previlage and honor for us to share our music with so many amazing people in such a wonderful community. Thank you to Rabbi Rick Jacobs, Josh Nelson, Neshama Carlebach, and all of our other friends and colleagues who made it truly a week to remember!
Friends Old & New
As is always the case after we attend a NewCAJE conference we have returned home rejuvenated, inspired, and renewed once again. We are so proud and grateful to be able to share our music and vision with such an extraordinary community of people and are blessed to call all of you our friends and family. Thanks to all the educators and musicians who were at the conference and a special thanks to Saul Kaye and all of the artists who we shared the stage with for a great night of Jewish Americana music! (Sammy Rosenbaum, Abbie Strauss, Stacy Beyer, Joe Buchanan, EJ Cohen, Sue Horowitz, and Max Jared)
Some photos from our time at Sound Emporium Studios. There's nothing much we can say that you probably don't already know about this group of musicians who signed on to play with us for our first outing so we'll basically let the pics speak for themselves.
Sam Bush: Mandolin - Mark Schatz: Bass - Scott Vestal: Banjo - Rob Ickes: Dobro
Special thanks to Juanita at Sound Emporium for making so much of this possible!
Bluegrass In Britain
We are so honored to have been featured artists of Limmud UK this year. Playing just the two of us in a sold out hall where you could hear a pin drop in England was an evening that we will not forget. And on the flip side playing at the Gala in a stadium where you could not here an elephant drop was equally as thrilling. Thanks everyone at Limmud for your hospitality and kindness and welcoming our brand of music to England. Hope to see you soon!
Summer of 2014 in Los Angeles marked our first official performance at NewCAJE as Nefesh Mountain. We performed as the closing act on the final night of the conference, sharing the stage with Doug Cotler, Sue Horowitz, EJ Cohen, and Mikey Pauker, among many other talented performers. We truly value the friendships and connections that we are able to make at NewCAJE and feel blessed to share our music with our peers.
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us at Chisuk Emuna Congregation in Harrisburg this past Saturday night. Thanks to Linda Laff for coordinating this incredible event the a PACKED HOUSE and one extremely energetic and soulful community! When we can be ourselves and play the music that truly inspires us to be artists and Jews, and we feel extremely blessed.
Can't wait for more!
